OVERVIEW

Winrock International (http://www.winrock.org), a US-based international non-profit organization, is a sub-contractor on the USAID funded Water Resources Integration Development Initiative (WARIDI). Winrock International is recruiting for an ACCOUNTANT to be based in Morogoro or Iringa,Tanzania. All applicants should be Tanzanian citizens and be fluent in Swahili and English. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender are essential requirements. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Responsible for supporting day-to-day financial management for Winrock International under WARIDI, including supporting payroll, bookkeeping, and vendor payments.
• Ensures compliance with Government of Tanzania, Winrock International and USAID laws, policies and regulations.
• Supports the management of staff benefits and entitlements as stipulated per their contracts.

EDUCATION:

University degree in finance or accounting

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3 years’ increasingly responsible accounting and fiscal management experience;
• knowledge and understanding of applicable accounting and audit rules and requirements;
• knowledge of and experience managing U.S. Government and international organization funds, preferably for USAID projects preferred.
