DIGITAL GRID/ WASSHA INC is a company dealing with solar business and we are looking for an
experienced Business Development Officer. He or she will report directly to the Chief Operation Officer, and we are interested in improving our business speed, efficiency and resources use
to increase our company’s overall revenue and provide more reliable service for our customers.

Position Title:      Business Development Officer

Location:             Dar es Salaam and entire areas of Tanzania

Job Overview:    

We are looking for a responsible Business Development Officer that researches and identifies the customer needs and promotes new products and/or services. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making dozens of research via field trips, presentations and sales activities. The goal will be to ensure the profitability of our company’s activities to drive sustainable development and long-term success.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepares marketing reports by collecting, doing trials through sales activities, analyzing, and summarizing data of our agent and customers
• Researches competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising, maintaining research databases
• Researches logistics chain to kiosks by identifying distributors
• Identifies interest and understand customer needs and requirements
• Identifies new business opportunities by selling new products and/or services
• Plans meetings by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, coordinating mailing lists
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading trade publications
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:

• Fluent English and Swahili language
• Three years work experience as a Sales or Marketing Analyst or similar role
• BSc/BA in marketing, business administration or relevant field
• Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of MS Office (MS Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
• Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
