DCB Commercial Bank PLC is a private Commercial Bank dedicated to uplifting the standard of living of low, middle and corporate – income people in Tanzania. The bank is registered under the Companies Act, 2002 as amended from time to time and is licensed by the Bank of Tanzania under the Banking and Financial Institution Act, 2006.
We are currently seeking for an experienced professional to join the commercial team as the Chief Manager Commercial with the overall responsibility of leading and executing the strategic leadership of the Commercial Department. This role reports to the Managing Director.
JOB PURPOSE
Profitably managing the commercial units by focusing on designing and executing a business strategy to accelerate business growth. He/she will be responsible for managing branch networks, SME businesses, Group Micro-lending(SGLs), Personal banking alternative channels and delivering excellent customers services.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop the commercial business strategy, budget and marketing plan in line with overall banking approved strategic plan.
· Ensure smooth execution of the agreed commercial specific strategies in order to accelerate business growth and profitability.
· Execute the commercial strategic plan ensuring alignment to customer demand and create a market leading Commercial competitor advantage.
· Provide clear direction for Commercial Sales and services business objectives, translating and prioritizing them into business performance measures.
· Resource, develop and maintain a highly motivated commercial team committed to achieving success through teamwork and collaboration.
· Champion the required cultural change needed to reinforce consistent sales, customer service and operational excellence disciplines and ways of working across the branch network.
· Effectively manage and direct all commercial banking business units with the objective of achieving annual sales, financial targets as incorporated in baking commercial strategy.
· Keep abreast of market dynamics, identify changes, risks, opportunities and act on them accordingly
· Take ultimate accountability for the management sales support and business development services
· Promote and maintain the highest standard of quality customer services in all banking customers’ channels to enhance and maximize revenue generation ahead competition.
· Drive service excellence across the branch network, by planning, monitoring and managing the implementation and continuous enforcement of all SLAs and service standards
· Maintain a close monitoring of customer service trends and customer service satisfaction levels in the branch network by commissioning regular customer surveys and mystery shopper events to identify weakness and area of strength and act on them accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
· Must possess at least first Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance or equivalent. A master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
· At least 5 years’ experience in senior leadership role in the banking industry.
· Customer focus as a primary function to ensure the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
· General Understanding of current business trends and completion in banking industry.
· Possesses an intimate understanding of commercial competitor activity, drivers, products, strengths, vulnerabilities, market share, client base and amends and improves branch network strategies and tactics accordingly to meet business objectives
· Broad and detailed technical knowledge of general commercial banking practices and procedures
· In-depth understanding of full range of commercial products
· In-depth understanding of bank’s strategy, operating structure and interfaces with other function
· Experience in commercial banking budgeting, forecasting, cost control and sales management essential
· Significant credit knowledge is essential
· An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
· Strong leadership and management skills
· Change management skills
