CUSTOMS CLEARANCE COORDINATOR
Bachelor degree in Supply Chain management, international business, Logistics, or other related fields.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics management or customs compliance, preferably in a Manufacturing or distribution environment. Should be a registered member of the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and oversee the importation of goods and materials, including scheduling shipments and managing logistics operations.
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of goods through customs and delivery to the destination.
- Monitor shipment status and track inventory to ensure on-time delivery and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and import/export laws governing the movement of goods across borders.
- Assess potential risks and challenges related to import operations and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and financial liabilities associated with import activities.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and terms with vendors to optimize costs, improve service levels, and ensure compliance with import regulations.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export laws and trade compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in import/export software, customs brokerage systems, and logistics management tools.
