Driver Position at Geofields Tanzania Limited

Geofields Tanzania Limited (GTL), established in 2008, is a multidisciplinary strategic service provider for the exploration and mining industry. As Tanzania's leading exploration and mining service company, GTL offers a comprehensive range of services including drilling, ground exploration survey work, mining equipment supply, and mining ventures. GTL is in a joint venture with African Underground Mining Services (AUMS), conducting underground operations at Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania.

Position: Driver

Location: Geita Gold Mine, Geita, Tanzania

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position.
• High level of awareness and understanding of local driving conditions and rules.
• Previous experience in mining or heavy industry is preferable.
• Experience driving large coaster buses.
• Must have a valid Tanzania C, C1, C2, C3, D, or E class driver's license.
• Basic First Aid certification.
• Completed secondary school.
• Advanced driving course.
• Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Position Purpose:

The primary role is to drive the workforce around the site and town as directed by the immediate supervisor. The driver is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe workplace by complying with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Take reasonable care for own safety and the safety of others affected by actions.
• Conduct vehicle pre-start checks daily.
• Drive assigned vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
• Drive vehicles according to the conditions and environment.
• Adhere to all road rules both at the mine site and on public roads.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in vehicles.
• Assist in other areas when required, as directed by the supervisor.
