Amani Centre for Street Children is a nationally registered NGO based in Moshi, Kilimanjaro-Tanzania. Amani is committed to reducing the number of children living on the streets in Tanzania by providing a safe place for homeless children to heal, grow, and learn and when possible reuniting them with their families and/or relatives. Amani operates in Moshi, Arusha, and Singida – with headquarters in Moshi.
Amani is seeking to recruit several new, dynamic staff members – to be working with Children and youths Living and Working on the Streets in Arusha Region and neighboring regions.
This is a new program implemented by Amani Centre for Street Children which will offer drop-in services for children and youths, a night shelter for children and youths and accommodate temporary referrals from other working partners and or Government authorities.
In addition to the new job openings in Arusha City, Amani also is recruiting to fill the vacant position in its existing programs in Moshi, Kilimanjaro.
4 Family Worker / Case Managers
The selected candidate will work intensively with street children and their families, s/he will manage reunification case-loads, Intervene and mitigate cases for children and youths at the Centre and in their families, conduct frequent visits to families of (reunified) street children and youth, do follow-up visits to monitor positive progress of children and youth who are reunited with families, One in this position should be able to keep complete and confidential, detailed data files of the children/youth and their families.
A degree or (advanced) diploma in social work, community development, sociology, or any other child development related studies. Fluency in oral and written English and Kiswahili, and at least two years of work experience in a closely related position.
