Overview

RTI International is accepting applications from qualified staff for the recently awarded USAID/ Tanzania Tusome Pamoja Program (2016-2021) in Tanzania. The 5-year program will assist the Ministry of Education to replicate and scale up reading, writing and arithmetic improvement interventions in schools with an emphasis on curriculum and materials development for Grades 1-4 in Swahili and English. On behalf of the USAID/Tanzania, RTI will work with regional, district, and ward personnel to implement reading, writing, and arithmetic reforms in four mainland regions of the country and Zanzibar, with support given to approximately 3000 public primary schools in the selected regions. Additionally, Tusome Pamoja will implement activities to engage communities and parents to further the goals of improved student learning outcomes.

We are accepting expressions of interests (CV/Resumes) for the position of Finance & Administration Officer to be based in Morogoro

Responsibilities

• The Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the overall financial, operational, procurement and administrative processes are adhered to and executed in a timely and qualitative way for the regional office.
• He/she will ensure that the internal finance and procurement processes are followed; financial forecasts are prepared, and logistical arrangements are made for program activities in coordination with the Senior Finance Manager and Procurement and Logistics Manager in the Dar es Salaam Office.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting or its equivalent from a recognized institution and 6 years’ relevant experience or equivalent. Or Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of institutional accounting and budgeting practices, especially those used by USAID.
• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and Access.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred.
• Fluency in English required, Kiswahili preferred.
