Position Summary
The Purpose of the Job is to help Baylor – Tanzania achieve its aims by providing effective assistance and support for professional accounting tasks, preparation, and maintenance of professional financial records, production of timely and accurate financial reports and statements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all daily transactions are posted to various ledgers, registers, and journals according to the established accounting procedures.
- Maintains an up-to-date General ledger.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and financial reports.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations including Bank reconciliations.
- Follow up of all financial accountabilities and prepare reports for review.
- Maintain an up-to-date fixed asset register.
- Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of the annual budget in compliance with applicable budget policy and guidelines.
- Prepare actual Expenditure Vs budgeted expenditure reports for review.
- Any other related duties and responsibilities appropriately assigned
Person Specifications:
Essential
- Minimum academic qualification: Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution; a B.com degree (accounting Option) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum experience and exposure of at least 3 years in a busy accounting office.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures,
- Analytical skills and teamwork spirit.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and to organize and prioritize own work.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft office, and accounting packages.
Desirable
- Experience of working in an NGO environment.
- Knowledge and experience of preparing accountabilities for funds granted.
