Over the ensuing years, CARE Tanzania has developed innovative education, health, microfinance, and environmental programs across most regions of the country.
CARE Tanzania is seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Office (CO) Finance Director: to develop, manage and administer the CO plans for proper recording, documentation, control, monitoring and reporting of financial operations in compliance with CARE USA’s and donor rules & regulations. They will provide oversight of the day-to-day financial operations at the CO level and will be accountable for organizing and providing high level quality financial services to CO programs, projects and units staff. They will work closely with the Shared Services Center (SSC) and Regional Office (RO) As a member of the CO leadership, the Finance Director supports the overall performance of the CO and delivery of its strategy, as well as ensuring that the CO meets the executive team’s key performance indicators and respective dashboard targets. The Finance Director also plays a pivotal role in mitigating financial and overall risk of the country office and in ensuring liabilities are minimized and addressed in a timely manner, as well strengthening the capacity and competitiveness of the CO to raise funds. They will also ensure a .partnership is developed and nurtured between Finance, Program and other program support units in the CO. The position will be based in, Dar es Salaam and will report to the Country Director with dotted lines to SSC, and the Regional Office.
Qualification:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Management or equivalent with 7 to 10 years as Finance Controller or Finance Manager in a Country Office environment. More importantly, they should have thorough knowledge of financial and accounting policies and procedures, demonstrate solid accounting systems experience and thorough understanding of – financial accounting, reporting, grants and contract management processes and experience with major audits (e.g. USAID, EU etc.).
