JOB DESCRIPTION
Position title: Forest Corporate and Business Coordinator
Reports to: Forest Programme Coordinator – WWF Tanzania Country Office

I. THE SCOPE OF WORK

The Trillion Trees Programme (TTP) is a major new initiative conceived by Restore UK, an environmental foundation. A group of three international conservation organizations – the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-UK & Tanzania) and BirdLife International (BLI) will implement the programme.

The world’s forests face a host of threats, which often reflect the fact that forests and the services they provide are not adequately valued in decision making and economic policy frameworks. These pressures are well known and many major international initiatives are attempting to respond to them. Rather than competing with these existing global initiatives, TTP will support them in their aims, with a particular focus on enhancing the scale and effectiveness of implementation. The Trillion Trees Programme (TTP) is just one part of the very significant global effort that is needed to realize this ambitious vision. The TT programme seeks to promote even higher levels of ambition regarding both outcomes and the mobilization of finance, and a longer-term vision.

The main focus of Forest Corporate and Business Coordinator will be towards mobilizing and applying finance for projects that contribute to the TTP. The Forest Corporate and Business Coordinator will concretize actions with a strong link related to policy/business actions that relate to networking with large-scale corporate private sectors/companies in and outside the country.

II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements the Forest Programme Base Strategy that optimizes relationships with private sectors/partners that are key for advancing forests programme – these include bilateral and multilateral government aid agencies (GAA), Civil society Organizations, Businesses, Corporate companies and WWF networks.

Develops and manages partnerships with governmental, foundations and private donors. Works with TCO Partnership Development Manager to articulate country level initiatives with regional and International perspectives on forestry sectors.
