ACDI/VOCA an International Development Organization with Headquarters based in Washington, DC, is currently advertising for the position outlined below t work on the NAFAKA activity. The NAFAKA activity is a four-year Cooperative Agreement funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which works with commercial agribusiness growth and agricultural productivity in targeted value chains in Tanzania.

Position: Gender and Youth Specialist

Job Summary: The Gender and Youth Specialist is a member of the NAFAKA technical team, responsible for integrating and monitoring gender, youth and women empowerment into project activities in an inclusive manner. This position reports directly to the Director of Producer Organizations

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

·         Lead and oversee the key gender-related project activities

·         Enhance gender equality and empowerment by providing support and oversight to grantees by ensuring grantees are not only reaching women but also helping them to equitably access and benefit from project resource.

·         Ensure gender outputs, outcomes and impacts are tracked, monitored, analyzed and reported via the NAFAKA M&E system.

·         Identify success stories on Gender. Youth and Women empowerment for documentation by the commemoration of international events such as International Women’s Day and International Youth Day to demonstrate success and achievements of women and youth beneficiaries

·         Represent NAFAKA Program in gender-related meeting and forums as called on by supervisors including giving presentations on NAFAKA gender activities and results

·         Collaborate with Director of Produce Organization from ACDI/VOCA home office in planning and implementation of an overall project gender impact assessment.

Qualification and Experience

·         Bachelor degree in gender, Sociology Social Work, Rural Development, Social Science or other relevant fields

·         Minimum 2 years relevant experience, preferably in USAID funded Project

·         Ability to travel 50% of the time
