Henry Jackson Foundation Medical Research International (HJFMRI) locally known as Walter Reed Program Tanzania (WRP-T) is an international non-governmental organization working in several countries providing care and treatment to people affected by HIV/AIDS and conducting research studies and has been actively involved in HIV and AIDS programming for over 30 years.

WRP-T implements PEPFAR funded HIV prevention care and treatment activities in the Southern Highlands, providing resources, personnel and services to the Zone. The program has expanded from supporting the Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital in becoming a hub for anti-retroviral treatment in the Southern Highlands zone; to community support through decentralized services with the overall objective of implementing research clinical HIV prevention care and treatment services in Mbeya, Rukwa, Katavi, Ruvuma and Songwe regions in the zone.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health. Community Development.Gender. Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) and community NGOs. WRP-T has been leading a comprehensive HIV and AIDS care and support program in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania since 2004. The program which is sub-contracting with Regional Health Management Teams (RHMTs) and 14 community outreach partners. extends to 25 district councils in the five regions. Collectively the zone which has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in Tanzania represents a catchment area with close to 6 million people (13% of the population of Tanzania mainland). Despite remarkable achievements made over the past ten years, the expansion of HIV care and treatment interventions remains critical both at the facility as well as the community level.

Walter Reed Program- Tanzania is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position below.

Job Title: Office Attendants (2-Positions) Reports to: Office Manager
Location: Mbeya

General Overview:
Maintain office operations by receiving and distributing communications, maintaining supplies and equipment, picking-up and delivering items and serving customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Opens and clean all WRP offices on daily basis and before commencement of work 
• Prepares breakfast for all staff and wash all dishes.
• Provides authorized photocopy services as may be requested' by the Administrative Assistant;
• Ensures that washrooms are clean and well attended;
• Cleans the exterior of WRP offices including dust windows, knocking down cobwebs and watering all flowers;
• Ensures that kitchen and cleaning supplies are purchased and available at all times;
• Collects, empty and cleans all dustbins and trash cans;
• Delivers mails to various WRP departments, and other HJFMRI-T partners;
• Ensures toilet supplies and equipment are readily available at all times;
• Follows up and handle all incoming and outgoing emails;
• Assist with event planning and implementation;
• Perform work related errands as requested such as going to the post office and bank as may be required;
• Keep office surrounds clean and tidy at all times;
• Keep and records all kitchen related items as per inventory (i.e. utensils and pots) and report any defects or shortage immediately to supervisor;
• Ensure adequate supply of clean drinking water for staff all times;
• Follow up purchase and supply of office/kitchen related items from market, as required;
• Prepare budget and assist in record keeping of all office related expenditures;
• Maintain a hygienic kitchen' and dining area environment at all times;
• Forwards information by receiving and distributing communications; collecting and mailing correspondence; copying information;
• Serves customers by backing-up receptionist; answering questions; forwarding messages; confirming customer orders; keeping customers informed of order status.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
• Perfor.ms any other duties as may be assigned by the Office Manager

Required Minimum Qualifications
• Form four or high school leavers
• Have had at least two (2) years of full-time clerical experience.
