POSITION: Payroll Officer

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager
JOB LOCATION: Dar es Salaam
JOB PURPOSE
The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for the Company which includes collecting all related payroll inputs and changes, verifying timesheets, calculating payments and deductions, preparing payment vouchers, all statutory remittances and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or related field
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of payroll-related labour laws and regulations
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing
- Experience in handling large payrolls, good track record, and maturity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect and verify all payroll inputs for all employees from the various HR Officers and Heads of Departments such as timesheets/attendance, Leave eligibility,
- incentives, changes to salaries and benefits entries and exits etc Calculate payments and deductions, including overtime, bonuses, loans,
- commissions and statutory deductions and process payroll on the Payroll system as well as generate all required reports.
- Prepare payment vouchers and corresponding lists for payment to banks as well as any other internal instructions to the payment departments in the company in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as timely submission of all statutory payments such as PAYE, Social Security, SDL, WCF, etc Maintain accurate staff bio-data and payroll records for all staff.
