ACDI/VOCA an International Development Organization with Headquarters based in Washington, DC, is currently advertising for the position outlined below t work on the NAFAKA activity. The NAFAKA activity is a four-year Cooperative Agreement funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which works with commercial agribusiness growth and agricultural productivity in targeted value chains in Tanzania.

Position: Procurement Assistant

Job Summary: The procurement Assistant under the supervision of Procurement Specialist will work closely with project staff t ensure that the NAFAKA procurement process is followed and procurements are completed in a timely manner. He/she will streamline purchasing operations to ensure that procurement services are efficient and effective.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

·         Receive all procurement requisition and generate solicitation documents

·         Sourcing  quotations for goods and services and arrange for purchase from the selected vendors

·         Prepare Contracts/Purchases Orders and ensures proper execution of the same

·         Contract expediting to avoid late delivery

·         Provide receiving supporting documents for goods

·         Prepare payment requests for vendors

·         Identify routine purchases for preparation and managing blanket purchase agreement(BPA)

·         Maintain and update procurement tracker

·         Manage the database for vendors

·         Keep procurement records

·         Processing VAT exemptions/Claim and keep tracker of it

Qualifications and experience

·         Bachelor degree in procurement and Supply or other relevant fields

·         Minimum 2 years relevant experience, preferably in USAID funded Project
