The Position:

The Programme Analyst on Sexual and Reproductive Health analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends, guiding and facilitating the delivery of UNFPA’s Tanzania Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) programme within national development frameworks and the UN Delivering as One context. S/he  will support the implementation, coordination and monitoring of gender-responsive maternal health and midwifery activities and contribute to the delivery of the Country Office programme targets related to  SRHR.

You will work under the overall supervision of the Deputy Representative and report to the Programme Specialist Health Systems.

Job Purpose:

Working within a large and complex Country Office (CO) environment, you will support the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, including maternal health/midwifery. Through substantive analysis and assessment of political, social and economic trends, you will contribute to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks.

You will monitor results achieved during implementation, guiding the appropriate application of systems and procedures, and developing enhancements as required. In addition, support the identification of new and emerging needs and new delivery modalities for SRHR, including maternal health/midwifery interventions 

You would be responsible for: 

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education: 

Advanced degree in public health, medicine, social science development and/or other related health and social science fields. Background in nursing and midwifery will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Experience: 

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
