Project Management Officer
About the Role
Airtel Tanzania PLC is looking for a Project Management Officer to join our Business Head Department. This role reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for day-to-day monitoring and delivery of key business activities, aligned with the OPCO MD's office.
Key Responsibilities
- Transformation Projects Updates & Follow Up:
- Ensure signed off Project Charters for all top transformation projects
- Develop and deploy a tracking mechanism in consultation with the Project owners
- Prepare monthly tracking / progress reports, highlighting:
- Exceptional items requiring decision making / support from OPCO MD
- Critical Path items that are at risk
- KPI measurement / Output tracking
- New Projects Progress Update:
- Ensure signed off Project Charters for any new projects
- Develop and deploy a tracking mechanism in consultation with the Project owners
- Prepare monthly tracking / progress reports, highlighting:
- Exceptional items requiring decision making / support from MD office
- Critical Path items that are at risk
- KPI measurement / Output tracking
- Critical Weekly / Monthly Projects Progress Update:
- Develop and deploy a tracking mechanism in consultation with the Project owners
- Prepare weekly /monthly tracking / progress reports, highlighting:
- Exceptional items requiring decision making / support from OPCO MD
- Critical Path items that are at risk
- KPI measurement / Output tracking
- Weekly Tracking of Key Messages:
- Develop a status and tracker for all key strategic / business messages sent by MD
- Track RAG status – highlighting exceptional items and issues that are not on track
- Highlight any decision making / support areas from MD
- Consolidate all tracking items into a weekly report for discussion with MD for closure
- Prepare detailed OpCo Business Review report progress reports on all running projects
Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- MBA essential
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant Project Management experience in the Telecom environment (Essential)
- Strong Analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent and effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
