The Centre for Counseling, Nutrition and Health Care (COUNSENUTH) is a Tanzanian national non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization that was established in 1998 (Reg. 9495) with headquarters in Dar es Salaam. COUNSENUTH’s vision is to have a Tanzania whose people, particularly women, children, adolescents and other vulnerable have optimal health and quality of life. Its Mission is to achieve these through innovative, cost-effective, evidence-based actions, that enhance positive behaviors towards health, nutrition, WASH, gender equality and women empowerment early childhood development, education performance improvement, climate change adaptation, youth employability and gainful engagement, through active community participation; multi-sectoral collaboration, good governance; advocacy and lobby; and active engagement of citizens.
Sustainable, Targeted, Responsive Approach to Optimize Nutrition and Growth for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (STRONG) is a five-year project (2023-2028) which will be implemented in partnership between Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and COUNSENUTH. The Goal of STRONG is: Adolescent girls and young women live healthy, productive lives and break the cycle of intergenerational malnutrition. The project which will be implemented in Mbeya and Kigoma regions, seeks to empower adolescent girls and young women to protect and promote their own health while, at the same time, strengthening and protecting the future families of participating young people by improving their knowledge of and access to infant and young child nutrition and health support.

Post Title: Project Officer – Nutrition (2 positions)
Duty Station: Kigoma and Mbeya regions
The Project Officers will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of nutrition component of the project in Kigoma and Mbeya regions. The applicants should be capable of working with the Local Government at Region and Council level, community, and also people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. They must have very good interpersonal skills, highly motivated, creative, team player with high degree of integrity and they must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English.
