By putting evidence-based health innovations into everyday practice, Jhpiego works to break down barriers to high-quality health care for the world’s most vulnerable population Jhpiego is implementing a number of projects in Tanzania and wishes to recruit the following positions

Overview: The Regional program coordinator will lead regional operations and oversee implementation in all districts targeted by USAID Boresha Afya project in the region. S/he will work closely with regional/district counterparts to set regional/district priorities. The coordinator will liaise with technical teams in the zonal (Mwanza) office to ensure the regional are supported in a coordinated, rational and intergrade way in the pursuit of project deliverables. S/he will coordinate with R/CHMTs to tailor assistance to district needs and to engage other sectors at the district level.

Required qualifications

·         A clinical degree or equivalent qualification (MD, AMO or nursing/Midwifery). Candidates with Public Health and any other relevant qualifications will be considered

·         Solid programmatic and technical expertise in reproductive health programs

·         At least 5 years experience in health programs at regional or national level

·         Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, inspiring teamwork and motivating staff, consultants and partners to achieve results

·         Demonstrated experience maintain donor and partner relations, ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform

·         Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts in other agencies and organizations

·         Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·         Ability to coach, mentor and develop technical capacity in regional and national programs and technical staff in the areas family planning, performance, and quality improvement

·         Excellent written and oral English and Kiswahili skills

·         Demonstrated self-management(i.e motivation, dealing with pressure adaptability)

·         Willingness to live in the specified regions and travel up to 40% time
