SENIOR MANAGER TAX ACCOUNTING (1 POSITION)

Tanzania Commercial Bank seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Senior Manager Tax Accountant, (1 position) to join the Directorate of Finance team.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

Our Bank is currently searching for a qualified tax accountant to prepare tax payments and returns. As the Senior Manager tax accountant, his/her chief goal will be to recommend effective tax strategies that comply with laws and promote our bank’s financial well-being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Manager Tax-Account shall be responsible on bank’s compliance to the tax laws and other regulatory requirements which includes but not limited to:

• Ensure tax compliance in respect of Payroll taxes specifically Pay As You Earn (PAYE) and Skills and Development Levy (SDL).
• Ensure compliance to other payroll statutory requirements to include Social Security and Workers’ Compensation Funds
• Ensure compliance to the various withholding tax schemes to include withholding tax on services fees, rental income
• Ensure compliance on Corporate Tax including the review prior to the financial year end of the estimated income declared for the purpose of amending the Estimate Statement if need .
• Prepare the income tax computation for the purpose of filing of the final Return of Income and
• Ensure compliance to value added tax.
• Ensure the timely preparation and submission of the various tax returns as required under the different tax
• At end to all tax queries as raised by the Tanzania Revenue Authority during tax
• Lodge objections against disputed assessments as issued by Tanzania Revenue Authority and facilitate
• Ensure compliance to other local Government
• A Senior Manager Tax Accountant will be responsible for assisting the bank with financial and income tax
• The qualified candidate shall be required to conduct research, study and interpret tax Her/his work include preparing payments, identifying tax savings, and analyzing tax issues.
• To excel in this role, she/he must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of accounting procedures and time management skil s, as she/he’ll have to ensure our company meets strict In addition to being an excellent communicator, as our ideal candidate she/he will also demonstrate keen at ention to detail with excellent mathematical skills.

In addition to job requirement above;

• Prepare tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and
• Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify
• Manage and maintain the bank’s tax
• Determine tax savings and recommend strategies to improve
• Ensure you comply with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local
• Offer support and guidance during
• Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax
• Keep track of industry trends and changes related to
• Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax
• At end to all tax queries as raised by the Tanzania Revenue Authority during tax
• In case of dispute with TRA; lodge objections against disputed assessments as issued by Tanzania Revenue Authority and facilitate
• Ensure compliance to other local Government

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Education:       Bachelor’s degree in taxation or relevant field.

Experience:     A minimum of 3 years experience as a tax accountant or similar role.

Skills/Attributes:

• Good understanding of MS Office and accounting software.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skill
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
