FHI 360/EpiC Tanzania project is seeking applications for the position of Senior Technical Advisor, Adolescent Girls and Young Women and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (STA-AGYW/ABYM),Dar es salaam. The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. EpiC provides strategic technical assistance (TA), promotes equitable access and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95. The project promotes self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, and linkage to treatment among key, Vulnerable and priority populations. In Tanzania, EpiC works in 11 regions to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the response to HIV among key and vulnerable populations (KVP) and their networks and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). EpiC Tanzania builds the capacity of local, community-based organizations and work closely with the Government of Tanzania (GoT) at national and sub-national levels to deliver HIV services tailored to the target populations.

 

Job Description

The STA-AGYW/ABYM will lead the design of the AGYW/ABYM strategy, oversee implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the AGYW/ABYM activities and coordinate the provision of evidence-based combination prevention package of biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions to out-of-school AGYW and ABYM ages 15-24 years to reduce their vulnerability to HIV across the targeted regions of Tanzania. He/she will lead the technical design of the AGYW/ABYM strategy and provide implementation oversight of activities at the community level aimed at increasing health seeking behaviors, reduce vulnerability, and increase HIV testing, linkage to care and retention on treatment among AGYW and ABYM in Tanzania. The STA-AGYW and ABYM will ensure all activities are implemented in line with GoT, USAID/PEPFAR and EpiC guidelines and standards. This position will be based in Dar es Salaam and report to the Technical Director, EpiC Tanzania.
