Pyxus Agriculture Tanzania Limited is in the process of acquiring an Edible Oil mill and Refinery in Dodoma as part of its diversification strategy and is now recruiting for key positions for this venture. The successful applicants will be sitting in the engine of growth as we shape our future together.

Job Summary:

The job provides information to Implement and control the Agronomy Sustainability Programs and Projects for Pyxus Agriculture Tanzania Limited to achieve grower sustainability and production of better quality compliant crops and improving yields

What you will do:

To coordinate, implement, and control the Agronomy Sustainability Program and Projects for Pyxus Agriculture Tanzania Limited and Pyxus International Inc. Agriculture Sustainability Standards and procedures.

• Planning and control Agronomy sustainability programs,
• Sustainability reporting, collates and validates data for all pillars under tobacco and sunflower, tree and other crops;
• Appraisal and compliance of sustainability Programs,
• Data protocols and analysis to ensure standardization and integrity, and to enable generalizations and informed inference;
• Oversee Governance pillar under the broader Pyxus’ sustainability programs

Who you are and what you’ve done:

• Degree in Environmental Science /Management or similar
• Postgraduate degree in Environment and Natural Resources or similar field

Experience

• Project management, environment, natural resources, business analysis, statistical management (4 to 6 Years) Sustainable agriculture experience within a smallholder context
• GIS and Remote sensing experience

Knowledge Areas

• Statistics, economics and business management
• Budgeting and financial control
• GPS and GIS
• Data management and organisation

Skills

The successful candidate should have the ability to broadly think strategically and adapt quickly to Pyxus’business environment, within a framework provided by Management. Specifically, the candidate should have the following:-

• Ability to impart, effectively, technical knowledge and skills to field technicians and farmers
• Ability to manage and work in team environment
• Ability to analyse, solve related problems and make accurate decisions
• Interpersonal skills and results orientated
• Ability to prepare and present complex reports and plans, and communicate clearly at all levels;
• Ability to plan and organize work on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual basis
• Ability to organise and build databases
