Overview

Mbeya Water supply and sanitation Authority (Mbeya WSSA) is an autonomous water supply organization mandated to provide water and sewerage disposal services within the urban area of Mbeya city. It was established in January 1998 under section 3(1) of Act No.8 OF 1997, repealed by Act No.12 of 2009. To adequately fulfill its objectives and in line with the expansion of activities Mbeya WSSA is now inviting applications from suitably qualified and self-motivated Tanzanians of high personal integrity to apply for five positions of ZONE COMMERCIAL OFFICER II.

QUALIFICATIONS

A holder of a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounts, Procurement, Human Resource, Sociology and/or any other related fields with experience of at least 1 year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Major

Ensure that business is growing by ensuring that customer base is increasing, simultaneously with the increase of the water demand level and the monthly billing is on the rising side

Specific

• To know all the details of your customers (Account Numbers, Names & location) within your
• Keep customer database records & perform continuous customer’s survey updating the records
• Sensitize the community for efficient use of water, safeguarding the water supply and sewerage systems, water meters and conserving the environment
• Mobilization & campaign for new water This is in order to affect the expansion of the customer base and thus the revenue potential.
• Mobilization of disconnected customers to revive their water services, also to revive moribund and dormant
• Work closely with other zones in charges officers and heads of departments/sections in order to facilitate the working modalities and hence achieve Authority’s perfections.
• Ensure all active customers in your zone are billed on monthly basis and every customer gets water bill at the end of The value of the bills should justify the actual quantity of water consumed by each customer
• Create customer awareness, education, and sensitization on payment of their bills on time.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant MUST be a Tanzanian
• Applicant Age should not be above 45 years
• Applicants who studied outside Tanzania should have a Certification from NECTA and TCU
• In Service, Applicants should seek approval from their current employers
• Applications that dully fulfills these requirements will be considered invalid

MODE OF APPLICATION

The qualified persons should submit the handwritten letters of application stating how they meet the advertised criteria attaching certified copies of relevant academic, personal curriculum vitae(CV) supported by professional certificates and testimonials so as to reach the under mentioned not later than 10th August 2018. Applicants are also required to indicate the names and contacts of at least three (3)work/professional related referees.
