LAB TECHNICIAN

INDUSTRY: CONSTRUCTION
LOCATIONS: TANGA AND MOROGORO
On behalf of our reputable client, HR WORLD LTD is looking for a Lab Technician , who will be responsible for inspecting and testing variety of construction materials on construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES;

• Collects field and quarry samples of construction materials and soils such as fresh and cured concrete, asphalt, sand, aggregate, pavement, structural steel, reinforcing bar; determines the location in which samples will be taken.
• Performs a variety of routine and complex tests and inspections such as: soil classification, sieve analysis, gradation, PH, moisture, nuclear density, sand equivalent, oven moisture and slump cone, both in the laboratory and in the field.
• Determines if test results are in compliance with applicable construction plans, specifications, standards and contracts.
• Uses specialized instruments and equipment such as nuclear and electronic instruments; calibrates and adjusts instruments to compensate for changing conditions; performs routine cleaning, maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment.
• Inspects facilities where materials are used and stored to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and ordinances.
• Prepares a variety of technical and other written reports on laboratory test results; files and maintains laboratory records.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS;

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or any other related field.
• At least 7 years of working experience.
• Experienced working on Construction projects.
• Ability to accurately test samples
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to work with people of various backgrounds
• Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
