The Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) is a bar association of Tanzania mainland, founded in 1954, by the Act of parliament – the Tanganyika Law Society Ordinance, chapter 344 of the Laws. In an effort to improve its Secretariat team, TLS intends to fill the position of Assistant Program Officer – Continuing Legal Education

Overview

Reporting to the Program Officer – Member Service, the CLE Officer basic function is to promote professional development and  continuing education of TLS members, and to design ongoing and long-term improvements to the TLS CLE programme

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

·         Bachelor Degree in Law or Education

·         Experience in Continuing Professional Development Programmes will be an added advantage

·         A good understanding of the Tanzanian legal profession landscape;

·         Excellent professional facilitation/moderation skills

·         Personal initiative and the ability to offer new ideas;

·         Organizational and planning skills to manage the highly packed annual CLE schedule and meets its objectives

Key Responsibilities

·         Responsible for the development and successful implementation of TLS CLE Curriculum

·         Develop new and innovative methods of CLE delivery relevant to learner needs

·         Regularly review and advice on CLE Regulations, Policies, procedures and Calendar

·         Work with the Marketing and Public Relations Officer to develop and implement annual marketing plan for the CLE Programme

·         Periodically prepare information for the TLS members and ensure that there is a buy-in of the members about the TLS CLE programme
