Selcom Microfinance Bank Tanzania is currently looking for a confident and self-motivated individual to fill a position of Business Software Developer at Head Office. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and business analysis of the bank’s operating processes to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
- Develop creative and functional prototypes that meet specified requirements and expectations.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to establish detailed program specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Perform comprehensive unit and integration testing before launching software to ensure high quality and functionality.
- Create and maintain databases that support the bank’s operations, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
- Conduct both functional and non-functional testing to validate the performance and reliability of applications.
- Design and set up an OLAP database with daily updates, including ETL interfaces for multiple disparate systems.
- Conduct external market research to inform the development of software and applications as needed.
- Ensure timely delivery of new releases, versions, and patches for CBS and related software by coordinating with the vendor Service Delivery Manager.
- Manage the installation and setup of the test environment for CBS, SMS notification, mobile banking, and agency banking.
- Coordinate all changes involving CBS and related software, ensuring they are compiled and submitted to the vendor on time, and manage the timely delivery of requested changes.
To be considered for this role, you must have;
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proficient in database design, schema, normalization, and optimization for retrieval and analytics.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies and ETL/OLAP concepts.
- Experienced with CodeIgniter, Laravel, WordPress, Cordova, Ionic, and Restful/SOAP API development and integration.
- Skilled in MYSQL, MSSQL, PHP, Ruby, and scripting languages for online reporting portals.
- Understanding of Java, Hadoop, or Hibernate.
