Job Title: Centre of Excellency Responsible (PDS/SALES) (3Post)

Qualification: Bsc. In Horticulture with experience in vegetable growing.

Job Summary: Demonstrating Rijk Zwaan varieties in the Centres of Excellence, organize farmer and Input Supplier training with our Cluster Partners and follow the rigid reporting scheme for the Feed the Future USAID grant.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Centre of Excellence Responsible (PDS/Sales) will be responsible for the following;

1. To make yearly demo plans for the station which will be used to create awareness, demonstrate Rijk Zwaan varieties, new crop techniques and which will be used for training purposes by the Responsible himself and visiting trainers. Trial plans form an important part of the crop plans.
2. Rigorous data collection and administration of training and financial expenditures under the USAID funded Feed the Future grant are integral part and key.
3. To organize and follow variety trials in cooperation with distributors. To report about these trials to the distributors and the relevant people in Rijk Zwaan, and to indicate the commercial opportunities.

4. To be involved in breeding and screening trials in cooperation with breeding departments.
5. To keep the sales forecast system for Tanzania up to date.
6. To set up a distribution chain, inform the distributors, their staff and customers on existing and new Rijk Zwaan varieties.
7. To give detailed technical growing advice to growers and distributors, with the goal to achieve the highest possible market share for Rijk Zwaan varieties.
8. To visit farmers and distributors in order to support the sales activities of the distributor. Farmer visits after consultation of the distributor, preferably together. The area will be one of the following: Morogoro/Mbeya Zanzibar Region.
9. To carry out market research for existing and new product/ market combinations.
10. To carry out promotional activities, such as taking part in exhibitions and seminars, and to organize Nane Nane Exhibitions and

field days

11. To push for Plant Raisers as a means to distribute Rijk Zwaan seeds.
12. The CoE Responsible reports every month.
13. The working schedule and travel plan are coordinated with the Sales Manager.

• Salary Scale: Staff salary rank according to Rijk Zwaan Scheme of Services.
• Tenure: Local permanent contract.
