CCBRT is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Chief Community Development & Research Officer
Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the preferred provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves – as healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes – the community and the most vulnerable. CCBRT is Tanzania’s largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services in the country. We prevent lifelong disabilities wherever possible, and are therefore also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities including obstetric fistula repairs. Our Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Community Development & Research Officer who leads ongoing community development and research initiatives while seeking new opportunities for CCBRT to support the community and the most vulnerable.
The role
As the Chief Community Development & Research Officer, reporting to the CEO, you are accountable for the sustainable development and implementation of CCBRT’s community development strategy and the CCBRT roadmap towards a Medical College. This includes all training and empowerment activities as well as research initiatives.
You lead CCBRT’s Development Programmes & Projects teams, ensuring that programme activities are delivered and existing partner relationships are maintained and strengthened. At the same time, new initiatives are identified and developed to enhance the financial sustainability of the programmes. You monitor community trends and investigate potential collaborations and opportunities in line with CCBRTs Mission and Vision. You are a member of the CCBRT executive management team.
The candidate
- A master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Development Studies, Community Development,
- International relations, Project Management) is required. An MBA or MPH is an added advantage.
- Experience (8+ years) in project implementation and grant management, preferably in healthcare or non-profit sectors.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful projects that lead to significant impact.
- 4+ years experience in leadership roles, managing cross-functional teams, driving strategic initiatives and making high-level decisions.
- Experience in research, trend analysis and competitive analysis to inform project development strategies.
- Strong background in building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including implementing partners, donors, government entities and clients.
- Strong analytical and problems-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to articulate vision and influence stakeholders.
- Global perspective: experience working in international markets or with global organisations.
