Dar es salaam, Tanzania with regular travel to multiple locations across the country.

Externally: Government authorities, clients, competitors

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to oversee and enhance our existing client relationships within the diplomatic, multinational, and extractive sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the security and service industry, with proven abilities in managing client relations, driving business growth, and developing business opportunities. Candidates should be well-connected globally within these sectors, with connections in Tanzania seen as a significant added advantage.

 

This position will work closely with other senior executives and business unit leaders to maintain and expand business opportunities in Tanzania. Close cooperation with the Extractive Services Director, Strategic Clients Group for Sub-Saharan Africa, and Operations Director for Africa is essential for aligning strategies and achieving sustainable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for key clients in the diplomatic, multinational, and extractive sectors. Manage ongoing relationships and ensure continued client satisfaction through regular communication and proactive resolution of any issues.
  • Business Development: Scout for new business opportunities within the security sector, developing and presenting strategic proposals to potential clients. Focus on expanding the company's presence and increasing revenue through innovative business strategies.
  • Strategic Planning: Work in partnership with senior management to create and implement strategic plans that align with the company's goals for growth and client management. Utilize insights from market trends to guide the decision-making process.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of current market trends and the competitive landscape. Use this data to adjust business strategies accordingly and stay ahead in the industry.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead and coordinate with various teams across the company to ensure that client needs are met with effective solutions. Promote a collaborative environment that aligns with business objectives and enhances team productivity.
  • Upsell Opportunities: Identify and leverage opportunities to upsell additional services and solutions to existing clients, enhancing their security measures and improving overall client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Corrective Action Planning: Develop and implement corrective action plans to address any client issues swiftly and effectively. Ensure all solutions align with company standards and client expectations, maintaining trust and reliability.
  • SOP and Incident Management: Adhere to and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures and incident management protocols to ensure consistent and effective handling of security incidents as per the client and GardaWorld standards

Accountability:

Accountable to the Director, Strategic Clients and   Country Director, Tanzania for the responsibilities stated in this job description, monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of their KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years in the security sector delivering solutions inside and/or outside client organisations
  • A minimum of 10 years operational experience in Africa and/or other complex operating environments
  • Prior experience of working within Oil and Gas, Mining diplomatic institutions and Government sectors a distinct advantage
  • Experience identifying and exploiting new business opportunities an advantage.
  • Experience developing and presenting commercial proposals to clients an advantage.
  • Prior budget management experience essential.
