The Tanzania Red Cross Society is a voluntary humanitarian organization established by Parliamentary Act no. 71 of 1962. The TRCS is guided by the Seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Society is well established in all regions of Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar and has a well-coordinated volunteer-based network.

Tanzania Red Cross Society is looking for a dynamic person with a proven record of Communication, Documentation and IT competencies preferably in large humanitarian organizations working with multiple partners to fill the following vacant position at TR.CS headquarter.
Contract Duration: Two years renewable.
Age Limit: Not above 40 Years.
Salary: Attractive remuneration package

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and maintain a communication strategy and guidelines for Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS)
• In collaboration with other departments, coordinate the development and production of quality communication and visibility materials as per TRCS communication policy and branding manual
• Support the organization in organizing press conferences, media events including media field visits
• To undertake the quality assurance responsibility in all communication and documentation processes
• Keeping the TRCS website active (with up-to-date information), official email and internet facility, functioning
• Liaise with the website host and IT support providers for the Secretariat.
• Coordinate effective utilization and maintenance of multi-media equipment
• To develop and maintain good linkages with the media, key stakeholders and partners
• Ensure timely and effective dissemination of information to the stakeholders
• Offer support to management in communication, advocacy and representation needs
• To perform any other related tasks as may be assigned by his/her Supervisor and the management.

Key Competencies.
• Ability to compose and produce a variety of communication materials and web design/website, updates for release to media and other stakes holders.
• Ability to use computer Software packages and internet formatting languages.
• Ability to communicate and make a presentation to special interest groups including partners, stakeholders, and the general public.
• Ability to provide practical training in communication strategies, method, and techniques.
• Working knowledge of mass media operation and its proper utilization for the dissemination of information.

Desired Qualifications and experience:
• The Applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication,
• Journalism or other related fields from the recognized Institution.
• A minimum of four years proven experience in working with humanitarian organizations in related field.
• Membership to professional Communication bodies.
