The Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania(SAGCOT) is a public-private partnership that aims to transform agriculture in Tanzania’s Southern Corridor. Partners include local and international companies, farmers, development partners, Civil Society Organization(CSOS) and the Tanzanian hectares of arable land into profitable production and lifting 10,000 small-scale farmers into commercial farming.

SAGCOT Centre Ltd. (SCL) functions as the operational hub, promoting investments in inclusive sustainable commercial value chains. The SAGCOT Centre Ltd is also a neutral broker and catalyst that links different agriculture stakeholders in order to help achieve major economic growth in Tanzania.

SCL is currently seeking to fill the following position

Communications Expert, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Primary Purpose: to promote a positive, consistent and clear image of the SAGCOT initiative and brand towards partners and direct stakeholders. The communication Expert will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of SCL’s effective communication and branding strategies across the board. The role will also provide guidance and support in the development and production of media events and engagements for internal and external stakeholders as well as wide publications and media materials including print, photo, and video for all SCL activities in the corridor.

Secondary Purpose: to broaden the understanding and ownership of SAGCOT goals and activities within and among partner organizations and the public at large

Key Objectives

General Objective: The selected candidate will be expected to follow through the implementation of the SCL’s communications strategy, and to achieve its critical communication milestones and objectives.

Specific Objectives: the selected candidate will be expected to fully implement the SAGCOT Center processes and by engaging a variety of international and local stakeholders this includes producing brochures, newsletter, new releases, reports, web stories, video photos, and social media content. Selected candidate should be able to build relationships with local, regional and international media outlets to promote the SAGCOT Initiative and the SCL brand.
