Core Banking Application Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Core Banking Application Specialist to join our team in Dar es Salaam. You will be responsible for administering and maintaining our core banking application, ensuring its reliability, availability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the core banking application to ensure its reliability, availability, and performance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Implement system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to banking operations.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues related to core banking applications.
- Act as a point of contact for end-users, addressing system-related queries and problems.
- Coordinate with software vendors for advanced technical support and problem resolution.
- Configure and customize the core banking system to meet business requirements and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement system enhancements and new functionalities in alignment with business needs.
- Plan and execute testing of new features, system updates, and integrations to ensure they meet quality standards and do not disrupt existing operations.
- Support the implementation of new modules, features, and integrations with other banking systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide training and support to end-users on the core banking system's features and functionality.
- Ensure that the core banking system adheres to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive banking data and maintain system integrity.
- Participate in and manage projects related to core banking system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of core banking systems (Oracle FLEXCUBE, SQL), and system integration concepts.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in managing and supporting core banking applications or similar financial systems.
- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of banking processes and financial products.
- Experience with system integration projects.
- Relevant certifications (Certified Information Systems Auditor, ITIL) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools is an added advantage.
