Sotta Mining Corporation Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Crane Lifting Superintendent. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all cranes and lifting activities on site.

Position Overview

Position: Crane Lifting Superintendent (1 position)

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

The Crane Lifting Superintendent is responsible for the safe management and supervision of all cranes and lifting operations on site. This includes ensuring strict compliance with company standards, procedures, and all relevant Tanzanian regulatory requirements. The role requires overseeing lifting activities for both Sotta Mining personnel and subcontractors, with a strong focus on promoting safety, efficiency, and operational excellence throughout all operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure all cranes and lifting devices are in safe working conditions and formally commissioned on arrival.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive crane lift logbooks, lifting equipment registers, pre-starts, and inspection forms.
• Supervise crane operators and riggers, actively assisting with roster creation and manpower planning.
• Generate and coordinate lifting schedules in alignment with site and subcontractor activities.
• Oversee all lifts to ensure strict compliance with company policies, design limits, and established safety standards.
• Assist with maintenance scheduling, breakdown management, and spare parts planning.
• Conduct pre-start meetings, deliver toolbox talks, and actively participate in HSE Committee sessions.
• Train, mentor, and assess personnel to continuously improve lifting competency and safety awareness.
• Implement robust contingency plans and ensure readiness for emergency situations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in crane operations or lifting management, with a preference for experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Possession of Heavy Combination (HC) and Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licenses.
• Certificate III in Construction Crane Operations (CPC32912).
• Intermediate rigging accreditation and a dogging license.
• Demonstrated strong planning, organizational, interpersonal, and ethical standards.
• Must be able to read and write fluent English.
• Must be capable of developing detailed load lift studies.
• Must be flexible, proactive, and able to thrive in a dynamic operational environment.
