The position will play a critical role in leading and guiding the conceptualization and execution of the project’s Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) campaigns, tools, and materials, including mass media, print materials, video documentaries, multimedia features, social media initiatives and digital platform experiences.
Working across the creative development process, from conceptualization to production, with multiple teams, the Creative Associate will serve as the focal point person between the project and its creative partners and agencies. S/he will oversee and guide the on-time development of all creative brief deliverables, from concept formulation to execution, ensuring the delivery of high-quality SBCC products that are aligned to and address the project’s HIV/AIDS, family planning and reproductive health, malaria, maternal and child health, and TB SBCC priorities.
Also responsible for: ensuring creative briefs support are in line with the project’s adult and youth communication strategic priorities and behavior change objectives; ensuring developed creative materials, radio media, and digital content are compliant with USAID Tulonge Afya’s Branding and Marking Plan; working closely with the Monitoring, Research, and Evaluation(MER) Team to plan for monitoring and reporting on the reach, distribution, and exposure indicators for each developed campaign and communication activity; establishing and building relationships with journalists, bloggers, and key media houses to secure good media and PR coverage behind the project’s campaigns and activities; identifying potential regional and global best practices for SBCC campaigns and materials that can be replicated ‘or adapted.
Requirements:
(a) Qualifications and Experience:
- BS/BA with 5-7 years’ experience in Marketing,
- Communication, or related field/OR MS/MA with 3-5 years experience in similar field· 6+ years managerial experience in a marketing, communication, creative or publishing position, leading the development of creative concepts for content creators, publishers, and/or clients
- Experience working with print, mass media, ICTs and other electronic media in a senior capacity required· Radio and video production experience, notably the ability to understand budgetary and process considerations when developing concepts. Proven track record collaborating and working with creative agents and across teams (e.g. Sales, editorial, and marketing)
- Knowledge of public health issues in two or more of the following areas strongly preferred; HIV/AIDS, family planning, reproductive health, maternal and child health, malaria, and TB
- Must be a confident communicator and presenter- Must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Swahili.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential, including the ability to present and sell concepts verbally.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and
- ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences and organizations essential
- Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
- Basic In Design and/or Keynote capabilities· Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office essential.
