Job summary

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Data Manager will work with the Data Systems Manager as a key technical Person in the data collection and reporting system for data management issues. She/he will play an essential role in coordinating data management, quality control, quality control, maintain equipment, and report writing.

Responsibilities

·         Provide Overall leadership in the development and management of data operations for the trial

·         Develop and maintain the front-end software applications and data corresponding database for electronically collected trial data and associated data entr and flow

·         Train clinic staff on the current software applications and data related issues

·         Supervise the research team to ensure optimal datea quality and coordinate the development of supportive suopervision and data auditing guidelines.

·         Responsible for maintaining all hardware needed for electronic datea system, including servers, routers, and personal data collection devices

·         Responsible for timely  production of relevant progress reports and appropriate documentation of all activites performed in the data unit.

·         Trobleshoot data-related problems and advice on the maintenance or modifications

·         Work with data systmes manager ttodeveop standar operating procedures for QA/QC evaluation of data entry accuracy, and work performance of he data team staff members

Required Qualifications and experience

·         The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or masters degree in Data Management, Computer Science, or related disciplines

·         Demonstrated experience with an advanced knowledge of SQL databse construction, progrmammin, and datea management

·         Reading, written and verbal flueny in Kiswahili and English with the ability to communicate statisctical ideas and concepts clearly

·         3-5 years of more of demonstrated experience in organizing and managind coimplex health research data

·         Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions(design, collection, analysis, distribution etc)  with a strong quantitative focus required.

·         Demonstratd experience research implemetnatioon

·         Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to prioritize and manage multiple prijects with analutical problem-solving skills

·         Experience in programming language is an added advantage
