The Tanzania Institute of bankers is a professional body in banking established in 1993. The main objective of the institute is to certify professionals qualified bankers in Tanzania.
Management of the institute is vested in the governing council constituted by the bank of Tanzania and sponsoring banks and financial institutions in the country. The institute, therefore, has the mandate in promoting and developing banking qualifications of international repute for professional career bankers who will be expected to run banks and other financial institutions in reformed and competitive financial systems. The institute banking professional and examination system is aligned to that the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London, United Kingdom(UK), East African Institute of Bankers and Alliance of African Institute of Bankers.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
- A holder of CPA or other equivalent qualification issued by recognized accountancy body
- 7 years’ experience in related field
- Strong knowledge of project-based accounting software
- Impeccable mathematics and analytical skills
- Able to meet tight and short deadlines
- Excellent computer skills
- Age not exceeding 50 years

Summary of Duties
The director of finance is a senior member of the institute management team and shall report to the Executive Director.
The successful candidate is expected to perform the following duties
- The Director of Finance shall be the Financial Controller of TIOB and shall form a close working relationship with the Executive Director, other senior executives, and non-executives.
- Shall provide leadership to the institute's finance and accounting strategy, to optimize the institute's financial performance and strategic position.
- Caltech overall control of the institute accounting functions to ensure efficient and economical menstruation of the accounts department while initiating appropriate financial policies, monitoring system, and controls
- Shall contribute to the development of institute strategy across all areas of operations, assumptions and decision making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
- Shall ensure that institutes financial systems are properly and efficiently functioning and support current activities and future growth.
- Shall lead and develop finance team and work with all institutes teams to grow business, formulating strategies and plans.
- Challenge Institute budgeting processes are timely carried out, reviewed and ultimately present to the governing authority for approval.
- Shall maintain adequate internal controls over the finance of TIOB at all levels of operation
- Shall be responsible as custodian and control of institutes funds, assets and physical more natural resources and advice on timely investment of funds.
- Shall facilitate expenditure controls to ensure they are maintained within the approved budget
- Shall present periodical and annual financial statements in compliance with the applicable financial reporting standards and provision of any agreement with partners.
- Shall ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met as appropriate
- Shall manage company's policies regarding loans, advances, taxation acquisition and disposal as appropriate
- Shall establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors
Remuneration
This post carries a competitive remuneration package commensurate with a status of the institute and scheme of service.
