Job Opportunity at Geita Gold Mine

AUMSGT is currently inviting applications for the position of Driver at the Geita Gold Mine.

Driver

Position Purpose: To ensure the safe and efficient transportation of the workforce around the site and town as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors by maintaining compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Take reasonable care for their own safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their acts.
• Conduct pre-start daily checks on the assigned vehicle.
• Drive the vehicle according to the prevailing conditions and environment.
• Obey all road rules at the mine site and on public roads.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
• Be willing to assist in other areas when required, as directed by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in an equivalent position.
• High level of awareness and understanding of local driving conditions and rules.
• Previous experience in mining or heavy industry is preferable.
• Experience in operating heavy specialized trucks in the mining sector, including Man Carrier Truck, Water Cart Truck, and Service Truck.
• Must possess a valid Tanzania C, C1, C2, C3, D, E class Driver’s Licence.
• Basic First Aid certification.
• Completed secondary school education.
• Completed an advanced written driving course.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English.

Essential Requirements (General):

• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence with the ability to drive a manual car.
• Basic First Aid knowledge.
