Overview

The position includes the following responsibilities within our branch in Tanzania, under the supervision and guidance of the Tanzania Country Director and the Technical Advisors for the two respective projects- Livelihoods and Financial Inclusion. The primary responsibility of the Intern position will be to support the development of a tablet-based training program that trains on business planning and other livelihoods issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support in the ‘storyboarding’ process as part of the development of the tablet-based app. These storyboards determine the content, flow, and mechanics that will determine the user’s experience.
  • Manage service providers – Review pieces of work and follow up with service providers and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery. Service providers have been contracted to provide illustrations, voice audio recordings, translations, and software development.
  • Conduct field work as required to supervise operations and participate in project monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Draft progress reports on the status of program implementation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support and facilitate the technical and organizational work of financial inclusion and livelihoods programs by finding and structuring the necessary supporting technical information.
  • Represent the organization in relevant forums and share feedback on a timely basis with the team

Technical Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree, preferably in Social Sciences
  • Two years’ work experience
  • Demonstrated organizational and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili
  • Publication-grade English writing skills

Desired qualifications

  • Experience with the software development process
  • Experience with the service provider procurement & management
  • Experience with adult education
