Position Overview

CultivAid is seeking an AITEC Farm Manager to serve as the Program Manager of AITEC Dodoma, responsible for leading farm operations, business performance, training programs, and on-site coordination of research and demonstration activities.

The position is responsible for translating the annual program design and business plan into daily operations, overseeing staff and labor, managing production and marketing activities, and ensuring the delivery of training programs, research activities, and partnerships on site.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Farm Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of management experience in agricultural operations, farm management, production systems, agribusiness, sales, or agricultural value chains.
  • Proven experience managing teams, staff, or operational workflows.
  • Experience coordinating production planning, operational activities, or sales processes.
  • Strong organizational and operational management skills.
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

Program & Farm Operations

  • Implement the farm business plan and oversee daily farm operations.
  • Coordinate crop planning based on market demand.
  • Manage farm resources, inputs, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure maintenance of irrigation systems and operational tools.

Marketing & Sales

  • Lead sales of farm produce, seedlings, and related services.
  • Coordinate harvest planning, quality control, pricing, and delivery.
  • Maintain relationships with buyers, farmers, and partners.
  • Support development of new market channels.

Staff & Team Management

  • Supervise AITEC staff, interns, and field labor.
  • Ensure clear roles and coordination across teams.
  • Provide guidance and performance feedback to staff.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Monitor operational budgets, revenues, and expenses.
  • Prepare regular operational and financial reports.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Manage internship and training programs at AITEC.
  • Coordinate professional trainings, short courses, and field days.
  • Ensure proper documentation of training activities.

Research & Demonstration

  • Oversee agricultural technology trials and demonstration plots.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of results.

Partnerships & External Engagement

  • Host visits from partners, donors, and institutions.
  • Support partnerships and represent AITEC professionally.
