Job Description
Job Title: Farm Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure efficient and effective record keeping practices in all farms. Maintain weekly farm schedules and visits.
- Timely reporting of all checklists on farm related matters.
- Educate, advice and train farmers on Global G.A.P.
- Ensure basic bio-security measures are employed in all farms.
- Supervise farm management practices in the farms.
- Supervise DOC’s placement in the farms whenever needed.
- Supervise disinfection and fumigation of farms.
- Supervise vaccination of chicken flocks of farmers.
- Cross-checking of feedstuff issued and/or used in the farm, matches with the feedstuff balances in the farm.
- Conduct post mortem on suspected infected chickens whenever necessary. Prescribe and administer drugs and veterinary products.
- Support your colleagues on work-related matters.
- Perform any other relevant work-related tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role Skills Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of practical farm management as related to institutional needs and purposes.
- Ability to plan and direct large-scale diversified farm activities, to supervise large groups of farmworkers in farm activities, and to direct skilled and unskilled employees in varied farm operations.ajira
- Ability to keep records of time, production and costs, and to make reports and recommendations for improvement in methods and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of animal diseases and of modern methods of their prevention, eradication, and cure.
- Creative skills and ability to experiment to attain new, better strategies, approaches, and solutions to challenges.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks along with an ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, team environment.
Job Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in chicken farm management.
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Animal Science or Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Competencies required for this Role
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship development skills. Analytical, decision making, problem solving ability.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- People management.
- Must be able to drive a motorcycle and a car.
