FINANCE OFFICER

Nature and Scope

The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Payments and Data Assurance. She/he will be responsible to ensure settlements of all Foreign Exchange and Money market deals are done timely in strict compliance to the cut-off times on settlement of deals. She/he will also perform reconciliation of settlement of deals confirming that settlement has been done by the bank and the bank has received same from other counterparties.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure preparation of the report of Money Market maturities for Front Office
• Ensure the booking of all the foreign currency (FX deals). Money Market (mm) entries, and any other transactions processed daily.
• Daily reconciliation of TX module reports and CBS and ensure items are booked in the TX module are reflecting in CBS.
• Perform daily check on the reconciliation statements from reconciliation team ensuring that no treasury items are outstanding and investigate if there is any unreconciled treasury item.
• Assist to ensure dealers are trading within their approved limits and banks exposures are within approved limits.
• Ensure proper liquidation of bonds & bills and perform weekly & monthly reconciliation of treasury bills and bonds.
• Ensure interbank queries are promptly attendance to.
• Ensure proper filing of all treasury related documents such as deals and other correspondences.
• Assist to formulate proper controls to ensure continuity and security of operations in line with existing operational manuals and policies.
• Ensure transfer of funds within Tanzania as well as to and from correspondent banks overseas are affected with good standards and in compliance with bank’s Anti-Money Laundering policy.
• Ensure treasury deals are processed according to the local and international standards and proper cautions is taken to minimise risks.
• Assist in providing full and proactive support for any enquiries from Clients/Business Partners/ local or overseas banks.
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

• Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration or related discipline from a recognized University/lnstitution.
• At least three (3) years working experience in a bank or financial institution.
• Ability to interpret and implement central bank policies and financial regulations.
• Knowledge of relevant banking operations and procedures.
• The highest degree of integrity and well developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Possession of analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as a team and independently with minimum supervision.
• Must be computer literate.
