WWF(The World Wide Fund for Nature) is an international non-governmental organization that deals with conservation of nature through a number of environmental management programmes. Our mission is to stop the degradation of the Planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which human life in harmony with nature. WWF-Tanzania Country Office(WWF-TCO) is seeking to hire the ‘Financial Controller’ to be based in Dar es Salaam office.

Major Functions

Under the directives of the Finance Manager, the Financial controller’s responsibilities will be overseeing implementation of donor and WWF’s operational policies, procedures standards and systems including budget management, financial reporting, and support audits, Effective management of the finance team and ensure that they are adhered to all the time.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Program Budgets Management

  • Prepare program budgets and forecasts
  • Conduct monthly program financial reviews and reporting(budgets vs expenditures)

Financial management and accounting

  • Playing a leading role in preparation and ensure timely submission of all financial reports for review and approval to Programme Coordinator and Finance Manager for further submission to donors and other partners as per respective contracts

Contracts & Grants Management

  • Establish an maintain contracts database for the assigned programs
  • Manage program incoming and outgoing contracts/grants

Program audits

  • Organize Office and program audits including preparation of documents for internal, external and donor audits.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on audit-related issues

Required Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor of Commerce(B.Comm) in Accounting or higher studies from a recognized university. Professional of a CPA or ACCA as full accounting professional qualification is a must.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial/ project management position
  • Computer literacy especially inspread sheets, word, email and familiarity with Acccounting Packages and financial systems
  • Understanding of USAID policies and procedures
  • Understanding and working with INGOs
