Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising agriculture and fleet performance by implementing and managing planned and responsive vehicle maintenance.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage estate fleet and to ensure optimal equipment availability
• Prepare and compile company fleets services and preventive maintenance schedules and ensures that these are adhered to
• Be responsible for LATRA renewal
• Follow up on outside Repairs from Vendors/service providers
• Prepare and process orders for fleet parts, materials and minimize down-time
• Monitor Fleet performance post services or repairs
• Identify areas where performance and quality management can be improved and manage the implementation of systems and processes to implement improvements
• Manage computerized records for stock holding of spares and materials and minimize down-time
• Oversee implementation of transport policy
• Oversee staff transport arrangements and vehicle availability
• Ensure continuous improvement by implementing workshop and maintenance best practices
• Reports any damage caused to Company property
• Oversee effective talent and performance management of maintenance team(s), developing skills within teams through on-the-job coaching and training
• Conduct on the job training and instruction, and identify new training needs where appropriate
• Monitor and manage team and individual performance daily against minimum standards and targets
• Identify and monitor KPIs and balanced scorecards, track performance and flag any issues
• Adherence of SHERQ standards
  
  

Job Qualification and Experience

• Diploma/ Bachelor of Automobile or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years’ experience in a transport/ fleet workshop
• Certificate in Transport Logistics and Vehicle Maintenance - Auto, Mechanical, Fabrication and Heavy Plant would be an advantage
  
  

Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent Contract.
