We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Front-End Loader (FEL) Operator to join our team. This role is critical to our mining operations at the New Luika Gold Mine (NLGM) and Singida Gold Mine (SGM). The FEL Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Front-End Loader, conducting routine equipment inspections, handling materials, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a willingness to participate in ongoing training and development activities.

Responsibilities

• Operates Front-End Loader safely and efficiently in compliance with the Shanta Gold operating safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and maintains accurate records.
• Inspect Front End Loader at the beginning of the shift making sure fuel, water, and oil are at proper levels and checks the brakes, and hydraulics, greases the bucket, and checks for any damage as directed by the checklist. The checklist must be filled out after inspection and submitted to the maintenance planner.
• Send the Front-End Loader to Workshop for routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance every day.
• Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with the use of material-moving equipment.
• Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guidelines for operating and maintaining a vehicle.
• Identify risks /hazards associated with his/her working environment and obtain assistance from the Supervisor to generate an action plan to minimize/eliminate the risk/hazard.
• Actively participate in training activities to gain new skills, develop full potential, and assume increasing accountability.
• Ensure sufficient task analysis is completed to carry work out safely. Always adhere to Shanta Gold occupational health and safety guidelines.
• Follow Shanta's policy and perform routine maintenance on his domain and equipment as required
• Compliance with safe Crane operational procedure, Quality and standard of work
• Compliance with the asset Reliability plan.
• Participation in weekly departmental meetings.
• Clear task assignments by asking questions to confirm understanding & agreement and provide task feedback daily.
• Promote staff cohesion and morale.
• Demonstrate a high level of work and resource planning by ensuring resources available to perform work.
• Perform any other duty as will be directed by his/her supervisor

Qualification:

• Form Four (IV) Certificate.
• Certificate for Loader/Heavy-duty machine/Equipment from a recognized institution.
• Driving License is required.

Experience:

• Experience and knowledge within the mining industry is preferred.
• Heavy duty Modules relevant to respective equipment would be advantageous.
• Good written and verbal English language skills are essential.
• Must have knowledge of operating another mobile machine the; like of TH, Backhoe, Bobcat, Forklift, cherry picker.
