Responsibilities

set and achieve realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with Managing Directorand the Board of Trustees

create a sustainable and diverse fundraising portfolio, with funding streams including individuals, major gifts, corporates, community, events, trusts/foundations and other grant-makers, with appropriate priorities

continue and develop current fundarising activities

support the development of large-scale multi-country funding proposals to international funders

developf undraising and publicity materials for awareness- and fundraising.

support advocacy work with key in-country partners, government ministries, funders and international agencies.

raise awareness of the DCMA and its work at local and national levels, e.g. giving talks to groups or seeking opportunities with the media

manage and update databases to record donor contact and preference information

create a regular quarterly newsletter to share with supporters, partners and funders

continually seek new and appropriate contacts and partnerships with relevant individuals or organisations

lead communication with key donors and funders with the aim of cultivating, growing and sustaining long-term funding and collaboration
Qualifications
- Strong track record of securing funding for charitable or NGO activities from a variety of funding streams, preferably in the culture field in developing countries
- Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor rel
- An understanding of the culture field in Africa
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of Swahili will be an advantage
- High standard of computer literacy
