GBF-CLC Internship: Supporting Youth Engagement in Biodiversity Conservation

WWF International is seeking a highly motivated intern to contribute to the development and implementation of its Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) Community-Led Conservation (CLC) Youth Strategy. This one-year internship, based in the Masasi Office, WWF Tanzania, offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in conservation and youth engagement.

About the Role

The internship will focus on assisting the Senior Manager of GBF-CLC in coordinating a global youth action plan. Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Advice on Youth Engagement: Preparing project ideas, concept notes, guidance documents, position papers, action plans, and lessons learned for WWF youth engagement.
  • Coordination of Global Youth Strategy: Identifying, coordinating negotiations, and implementing agreements between GBF-CLC and youth networks (starting with the Global Youth Biodiversity Network).
  • Partnership Support: Co-developing quarterly and monthly action plans and reports for partnerships between WWF and youth networks. Supporting coordination meetings (physical and online).
  • Knowledge Management and Communication: Managing knowledge systems and communicating about the WWF-youth partnership.
  • Project Administration: Assisting with overall project administration, including planning and documenting meetings and events, and coordinating team logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for global youth coordination.
  • Maintain updated knowledge systems for the project.
  • Coordinate project administration at the global level.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Wildlife, Forestry, Environment, Climate Science, or Social Studies.
  • At least 1 year of experience engaging with youth initiatives and networks.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management and coordination.
  • Familiarity with the Global Biodiversity Framework.
