The purpose of Maji na Usafi wa Mazingira (MUM) Activity is to expand and sustain the provision and governance of WASH services by increasing access to sustainable water services; Increasing access to finance for water, sanitation, and hygiene; Strengthening the market for sanitation products and services; and Strengthening basin water boards and water user associations for stewardship of water resources,
Tetra Tech seeks experienced candidates for the following positions:
Gender Integration and Youth Engagement Specialist (1 Post) Based in Iringa
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party-Technical, the GIYES will be responsible for gender integration and youth engagement across all project components. This position involves the development, implementation and monitoring of a project level gender and youth strategy to guide these efforts and establishment of and engagement with the project Youth Advisory Council.
The GIYES will work in close partnership and coordination with Iris Group (a Tetra Tech subcontractor), seek input, review and approval from Iris Group for key technical deliverables (including workshop agendas and materials, gender and youth-related research and MEL, inputs to communications and SBCC messages and materials, etc.).
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent and 7years in relevant field or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10 years in relevant field.
Education: Educational background in water resources management, public health, environmental management, gender studies, or rural development desired.
Professional experience: Experience managing/ implementing similar gender and youth engagement programs preferably on donor funded WASH/IWRM programs in East/Southern Africa. Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context of working in East/Southern Africa.
