Responsibilities 

  • Understand and execute accountabilities of process plant operation under Tanzania Mining Commission Regulations.
  • Ensure and adherence to all statutory requirements and Barrick Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
  • Weekly metallurgical routine tasks as described under the weekly routine tasks below, 
  • Your areas of focus will be associated with metallurgical laboratory tasks which include sampling and other assigned test works.
  • Compiling of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly data for metallurgical account reports,
  • Responsible for various metallurgical functions associated within the plant and daily, weekly monthly reporting.
  • Responsible for various metallurgical test works (BRT) associated understanding the ore feed blend and plant recovery.
  • Responsible for reagent and consumables weekly and monthly reconciliation with supply chain.
  • Participate in plant troubleshooting with operation and engineering team.
  • Reagent and consumables ordering.
  • Responsible of gravity, CIL and Milling circuit optimization (operation and maintain of critical spare records).
  • Assisting on monthly metallurgical accounting and reconciliations.
  • Metallurgical test work planning and execution, analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Maintaining and optimizing the on-stream analyzers’ WAD and TAC.
  • Maintain the standard and performance of Automatic samplers in the plant.
  • Assist other metallurgical and operational personnel as required.
  • Conducts and participates in audits, reviews and quality assurance activities associated with managing operational and metallurgical functions.
  • Contributing to monthly, quarterly and annual consumables budget and forecast planning for all met lab consumables.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Plant Metallurgist or Senior Metallurgist 

Qualification requirements

  • Should be a graduate of 2022 and 2023.
  • Degree in Mineral Process Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering
  • Computer literacy is essential- Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, (SAP, Valid Driving License).
  • Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.

Experience and competencies needed.

  • Familiar with a variety of the metallurgical field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Minimum practical training or Field Experience in gold processing.
  • Familiar with SOPs the gold plant processing. 
  • Fundamental of Business Improvement.
  • Metallurgical Sample collection, submission and Test work
  • Experience with communication and documentation management.
  • Experience with computer application and software skills – Excel.
