Currently, the bank is seeking additional talent to serve in the role outlined below

 

Head of Risk & Compliance

Reporting to the chief risk officer(CRO) the holder of this position will support the CRO inserting strategically management division and be charged with the responsibility of delivering the strategy with exceptional leadership skills, network of internal and alliances and highly developed business skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish quantitative metrics for market and asset liability management(ALM) risk across the group on Treasury and finance
  • Coordinate with credit risk and market risk analytic heads to develop regional and market-based models of risk.
  • Undertake quantitative internal capital adequacy/Assessment Process in relation to market risk
  • Lead in the creation of macroeconomic market risk models to forecast prospective impacts and creates a framework for operational risk assessment in line with banks operational and strategic expansion plans
  • Lead in the creation of country-level market/ALM analytics and devise market analyst architecture as well as a portfolio-based framework for measuring market risk and ALM exposure
  • Work with credit risk and operational risk analytics head to aggregate exposure(using existing metrics) for enterprise risk management
  • Oversee the management and further improved/develop the Bank’s risk register
  • Lead in design of a quantitative, internal operational risk ratings and management framework
  • Support the CRO in establishing two-way communication of risk within and outside the business
  • Lead in the creation or adopt automated platform for analytics that interact with existing systems
  • Lead in the undertaking of quantitative internal capital adequacy assessment process in relation to operational risk
  • Support credit decision-making through ongoing development of decision making tools

Candidates Qualifications, Knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Investment or Economics related field
  • A postgraduate degree and/or qualification such as Masters of  Business Administration(MBA) or professional risk qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Minimum  10 years relevant experience in progressive positions in risk management
  • Proven ability to pursue and secure corporate finance transactions in the corporate and public sector
  • Experience in execution of depth capital market transactions including section of target banks, book building,negotiation of documentation, and closing arrangements
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Sound understanding of regional legal, tax, regulatory rules in the capital markets area
