Description

NIMR - Mbeya Medical Research Centre (MMRC) is one of the NIMR centres located in Mbeya within the Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital compound. The centre is currently conducting research on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis as well as other diseases of public health importance.
NIMR Mbeya Medical Research Centre is looking for qualified, experienced and motivated persons to fill the below vacant positions whose duty station will be in Mbeya City:
HEALTH LABORATORY TECHNOLOGISTS (2POSTS)
Job Description:
· Perform automated haematology (Sysmex K21N, Coulter AcT5CP) methods and semi-automated coagulation (STart4)

· Performing manual Haematology methods (manual WBC count, Differentials, estimated platelet count)

· Carry out training on preparations of reagents needed in Haematology

· Performing and analyzing Elispot and ICS assay in the CTL Laboratory

· Performing equipment maintenance and maintenance protocols

· Book 1 SOPs and CTL laboratory SOPs reading and understanding.

· Preparation of reagents needed in the CTL lab according to SOP

· Performing GLP and GCLP

· Cell sorting and transfer of cells to LN

· Preparation and autoclaving of PBS (incl. PBS w NaAz and labelling of PBS bottles.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Diploma in Health Laboratory Technology

Terms: One year renewable Contract.
