Overview
INTEGRATED RURAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (IRDO) is a Rural based organization situated in Ileje District in Songwe region Southern highlands of Tanzania and is registered NGO under Tanzania NGO act of 2002 and works to cover Tanzania mainland. The organization is expecting to sign a contract with HJF Medical Research International (HJFMRI/MHRP) to implement comprehensive community based HIV/AIDS services in Momba District and Tunduma Town council for financial year 2018/2019.
The organization is an exciting and rewarding place to work, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Focal person for HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC), Focal person for Prevention activities and HIV Testing Counselors who are committed to its mission and values. Summary of the Position
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Location: Working for Momba DC (operating from Kamsamba Village)
The HTC Focal Person will work closely with Local Government officials, Partner(s) Community and other stakeholders in implementing Community based HIV and AIDS intervention program in Momba District. The incumbent will coordinate implementation of HTC activities in the program area.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Should perform HIV Testing and Counseling activities according to prescriptions and conditions set by the Ministry of Health, community development, gender, elderly and children (MoHCDGEC)
- Should plan, organize, direct, supervise, and monitor implementation of all activities relating to HIV testing and counseling.
- Should collect, analyze and compile HTC data and prepare monthly and quarterly HTC report.
- Develop new project ideas for improvement of HTC Program.
- Ensure the provision of quality HTC service to the community
- Ensure all people tested positive are linked to treatment and care services
- Develop strategies for strengthening referrals and linkages to healthcare facilities in target states to ensure the continuum of care for project beneficiaries.
- Perform other activities assigned by program coordinator.
Requirements/Qualification
- Should be a holder of Diploma or degree in nursing/medical/clinical medicines or any other equivalent recognized by Ministry of health community development, gender, elderly and children.
- Should have at least 2 years of experience in HIV Testing and counseling
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
